Where will I be able to leave my dive gear?
At the dive school, we have a wash and hang facility. We can pick you up from your apartment/hotel on your first day with your dive gear, leave your dive gear with us during your stay and we will drop you off with all your dive gear on your last day to your apartment/hotel.
Will a 5mm wetsuit be warm enough for this time of the year?
Yes, this type of suit is suitable for the whole year round. The dive school uses 1 piece 5 mm wetsuits. If you wish to bring your dry suit, only bring it during the months of December to March and you should only need to wear shorts and t-shirt underneath. You will get wet anyway, with sweat.
Do you use A clamps for regulator connection to cylinder values?
We have both facilities of 'A' Clamp or DIN.
What additional charges are there?
There is an additional charge per customer of 12 € and this payment goes towards the maintenance, running and testing of the decompression chamber in Arrecife. This charge will be added to your bill as the diving school diving pays the Government direct, in advance, monthly on behalf of our customers.
How much does a full set of scuba diving equipment cost to hire?
A full set of scuba diving equipment hire costs 12 € per dive.
Why must I pay 9 € for a boat dive and why is it not included in my diving charge?
The diving school diving hires a boat twice a week to give our clients the option of doing some boat diving. These dives are optional to our clients. The money goes to pay the sub-contractor for the hire of the boat.
Do I need to have a Medical?
To come in line with the BSAC and PADI organisations, the diving school diving asks each diver to complete a self medical certification form.
However, it is the individual's responsibility to ensure they have regular dive check-ups with their local G.P. to ensure they are healthy and fit to be diving. If you have any concerns about your health and diving you should consult your local diving doctor.
It is our duty to point out to divers, that when signing a self medical certification, should you prove to have a non-declared health problem, you will experience problems with health insurance claims and you would not be covered by the dive school's insurance.
Those wishing to have a medical certificate from a doctor here in Lanzarote can have one done for 18 €.
Do I need to book my diving or course requirements in advance?
I always recommend that you send a confirmation email of your arrival date which will ensure that you receive our "priority client" status. For course work, definitely send a confirmation of your training requirements and requested start date together with confirmation of your length of holiday.
I don't have a dive buddy!!
No problem, we will find someone for you. Our daily excursion groups consist of a maximum of 8 divers and we will pair you up with someone of equal if not higher skill level.
Are we able to see Seahorses and Angel shark?
The Angel shark are our winter visitors and they can be seen between end of October to approx. mid April.
Seahorses can generally be seen as long as the waters stay warm and we don't have any unusual cold streams.
