This course is ideal for all those that never had contact with the sport and wish to start from zero.

The objective of this basic courseis to learn all the safety procedures and full control of the kite both inside and outside the water. Upon completition of the basic course you will be able to do the "body dragging" (slide on water being pulled by the kite - without board). This manouver is essencial for safety reasons in case one should loose the board once kiting in order to get to shore.

CALIMA organizes camps for beginners, intermediate and advanced kiters holidays in Lanzarote, Canaries.

If you wish to combine your surfing holidays with a kite course or do the complete kiteboarding course with IKO certification we have designed several packages for you.

These packages include accommodation in "Caleta de Famara" (inside Famara Natural Park) away from mass tourism and 100m from the beautifull beach (6km of fine sand). You can enjoy a great surfing holiday in confort, surfing and kiting in the crystal warm waters of Lanzarote.

The Kite lessons are given in Famara beach usually during low tide hours for better safety. 6 Km sandy beach perfect for your kitesurfing holiday.

To initiate yourself on this magnificent sport you don't need to be "extremely fit". It is a very easy sport to learn. With the IKO teaching programms you'll learn in a fast and safe way...

• Security and prevention
• Theory and practice of flight technics and control
• Security and prevention in the water
• Try to ride upwind
• Kite lifting - how to raise the kite from the water
• Transfers - Experiencing fully the power of the kite in the water and how it influences your movements
• Water start - This is when you lear how to control the kite movements, position, board speed and kite control so you feel safe in the water...

The school has last generation CABRINHA, Takoon kites and SEFON boards, wetsuits and all material necessary.

With the 4 days course (Kite Camp package - 4 days), beginners will be self suficient and ready to free ride... in full safety not only for them but for the others also.

You'll learn the basic about setting up your own gear, and free ride... always depending on the learning capacity of each own... The kite school is a FKI oficial kite centre and instructors Iko levels 2.

Lessons are in English, Italian or Spanish.

This course is for all free riders that have their own equipment and do their own water-starts, but don't ride that regularly or still want some training ...

In this course you'll improve:

• ody position
• constant power control with the kite & kite movement on both parts of the wind window techniques
• Edging control. Methods to increase or decrease the power by edging
• switch of direction withouth loosing the power
• And first jumps...

Objectives: You'll define them, besides improving your technic you will learn new jumps and manouvers.
